Nonstop action and the art of sitting still

Scott went to his lead singer's birthday at Di Piazzas and they ended up playing a few sets with other band members that showed up. I went up to the club to watch him. It was awesome to see my Jimi Hendrix again. Scott hasn't played in forever. It's so hard to be a partner when your sweetie just decides to check out for, oh say about three years! It has been one thing after another. His mom died, he finished college, he quit playing music, he quit going out except to work or go to his sister's house to play D&D with the same guys he has played with since high school, and he has not got a new job, the one he has is contract part-time work. All he wants to do is play that stupid Final Fantasy game. He won't step away from it when they are on a "quest". I'll ask for help or ask him to come to the store with me and he'll tell me he can't because "People are depending on me. They're waiting on me. I'm in the middle of something......

OMG Wahoo Ninja Warrior! What a week!!

Image
Guess what I did this week??!! Apart from skipping yoga aaaaand almost every one of my badass workouts, I'm going tonight, but I feel like scum missing it all week. I went to AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR!!!!!!!!AAAAAghhh! It was cold and rainy, the people around me were screaming "You Suck!", to everyone that fell (which was all but two of the competitors that ran it, and no one wanted to come with me. Wa! But I had fun.) I ended up standing in line with the competitors. I was an hour late because of traffic, which meant an hour less of standing in the rainy cold. I realized something was off when I noticed everyone around me was a guy and they were all cut like madmen. I asked "Is this the audience line?" The guy next to me was dressed in camo and was wearing a bandanna over his face. He pulled down the bandanna and grinned. "This is the competitor's line. You want to compete." I told them I'd compete if they wanted someone to face plant on the cou...

Finally! Two seconds to blog

Image
Hi ya'll, 1st picture random dog beach sunset, because everyone needs a random moment of beauty. 2nd picture is the massive bruise I got while working out. We had to jump up and slap both knees at the same time. Yes I did almost face plant every time, thanks for asking. Notice it is in the shape of my hand. Scott was horrified. LOL I was going to blog on Wednesday, and my world just kind of snowballed into stuff to do! I'm trying to get myself ready to go rock the Spa Sidney booth at roller derby tonight. I'm determined to watch the second half. I missed the game last time. Alexis and I were just too cashed from volunteering to stay any longer. I promised myself I'd get a beer and French fries and just sit and watch the game in peace, sometime tonight. Speaking of health food:o)LOL My friend Teresa is offering a detox nutrition class on Tuesdays that I want to go to. Here are the details: When? Beginning June 7th, Tuesdays 12:00-1:00pm Where? 100 Oceangate, 12...

Wow, what a week.

I have been trying to make it to workout, but I 've had different stuff come up. I don't feel bad though. I hit yoga 3 times this week. Tuesday, Josh was trying to pack his 2 person kayak on a trailer and pull it with motorcycle. I impulsively decided that I would go with him. We packed up the truck, and drove down Ocean behind the handball courts on Bay shore Dr. Day 1 I was amazed by how good I felt while paddling. Usually, my right forearm squeaks in pain. We set a good pace, drank a lot of water, and totally lucked into being the first of the season allowed into the bird sanctuary. The nature guys were hauling back the floating gate to the bird sanctuary. The water was really low, but the water was clear. We brought a picnic lunch. We sank our paddles in the mud and hooked them on our boat. We floated and watched the birds. It was an amazing moment. We paddled like mad to get back but we didn't get back until 5pm. After we got home, I showered. I was soooo sun baked, a...
